WELCOME
TO DISCOVERY JOURNEYS Since its inception in 1879 the management has supported several environmental issues; the doyen of Discovery Journeys for the last 10 years have been engaged in the protection and upkeep of the Dal Lake in Srinagar in Kashmir, and have been founder members of Dal Lake Protection Committee. Discovery Journeys has been closely associated with world-renowned ornithologists Dr. Robert Fleming Sr. and Jr., and botanist Dr. Oleg Polunin, for whom they have organised several exploratory expeditions. At present, Discovery Journeys along with Bombay Natural History Society (est. 1883) is initiating bird ringing operations and scientific study of flora and fauna in different Himalayan districts. We can proudly claim that the staff and volunteers of Discovery Journeys have the knowledge, experience and local contacts necessary to cope with any situation. Directors of Discovery Journeys have been on almost every trip listed in the following pages, so we know exactly, what we are offering. You will not be disappointed. |
